Carson Merriefield

Carson Merriefield is a fused glass artist who lives on the shores of Lake Superior north of Sault Ste Marie, where she is inspired by the nature that surrounds her. A native of the Sudbury area she returned to the north after retiring from clinical Social Work.
Carson has always had a love affair with glass “I see glass as a mercurial substance where heat can transform it into wonderful objects” She is self taught with numerous educational and international workshops spanning 15 years.
Fused glass comes in sheets, powder and liquid. All these elements can be cut, shaped and painted before or after being fired in the kiln. Carson’s work encompasses a wide range of kiln formed creations, from jewelry to functional items and art.
